Billing and Payment
All students must register at www.rossgreertutoring.com prior to receiving tutoring services. The registration process requires the client to identify the responsible party for tutoring decisions and payment for services (i.e. the parent or student).
Service rates are available at www.rossgreertutoring.com. Existing students may be enrolled at a different previously established rate. Rates are subject to change following the end of the student’s current semester, quarter, or trimester.
Invoices for payment will be sent monthly via email. The invoice will list dates and times of service multiplied by the hourly rate. Payment is due within 30 days. Late payments are subject to a 5% late fee on total balance due. Payment is accepted via cash, check, PayPal (rossgreer@yahoo.com), or Venmo (@RossGreer).
Scheduling Appointments
Appointments may be scheduled in person, by phone call, by text, by email, or through my tutoring website (www.rossgreertutoring.com).
Your appointment is confirmed if and only if you receive an email containing a Google Calendar invitation for our lesson.
It is assumed that both the student and the student’s parent has the authority to schedule appointments, or extend the duration of tutoring sessions in real-time, unless an alternate agreement is established prior to either of these events. This should be accomplished when registering.
Group Lessons
Students and parents may request group tutoring if they have a coordinated group of students. Group rates are listed on www.rossgreertutoring.com, billed individually. When registering, groups must designate a group coordinator with authority to schedule appointments or extend the duration of tutoring sessions in real-time, unless an alternate agreement is established prior to either of these events.
Cancellations are charged full rate, but lessons may instead be rescheduled if at least 2 days (48 hours) notice is given by the group coordinator. When rescheduling, the group coordinator is responsible for selecting and communicating a new time for the group.
Cancellation of Lessons by Student or Parent
If the student or parent cancels tutoring with at least 2 days (48 hours) notice, no fees will be incurred.
If the student or parent cancels tutoring with notice provided between 1 and 2 days (24 and 48 hours), the lesson may be rescheduled to a time agreeable to both parties at no cost.
If a student or parent cancels tutoring with less than 24 hour notice or fails to show up to a tutoring session, the paying party may be charged for the tutoring session at the full rate.
Cancellation of Lessons by Tutor
The tutor may cancel lessons by giving at least 1 day (24 hours) notice to the student and/or parent.
In the event that the tutor cancels a lesson within 24 hours of the lesson time, the lesson may be rescheduled at a 50% discount.
Late Arrival
Fees are calculated according to the times stipulated in the schedule, and no adjustment shall be made for time lost because of late arrival by the student. Alternatively, late arrival by the tutor will result in a prorated discount of fees for the session.
If a student is late and has not notified the tutor within fifteen minutes of the lesson start time, the lesson is considered cancelled by the student.
Extended Service Hours
Students may request tutoring during an ‘all-nighter’ or ‘cram session’ (receive instruction between the hours of 11pm-9am PST). Services during these hours may be subject to a rate of $300 per hour.
If a student requests to continue a lesson into extended hours, the student will be alerted prior to beginning tutoring service at extended hours; the student is responsible for communicating and confirming their requests with the responsible party. Any decisions made by the student are assumed to be made with the permission of their parent/guardian/responsible party.
Obligations of the Tutor
The tutor undertakes to provide online or in-person instruction in academic subjects in such a way as to optimize the benefit of the student. This may take the form of:
Discussion, guidance, or demonstration of academic exercises created by the tutor
Supervision, discussion, and guidance on assigned homework or course material
Reading and discussion of academic material
Providing suggested revisions and feedback on assignments
Conversation intended to motivate and encourage the student
Creation of resources for the benefit of the student
Logistic assistance to the student or parent related to the student’s academics
Other services requested by the student or parent may be considered, but are at the discretion of the tutor.
The tutor shall keep confidential all information of the student and shall contact other parties involved in the education of the student only if given permission by the student or a parent to do so.
The tutor shall at no time be required or obliged to execute homework or assignments on behalf of the Student.
In the case of a suspected Academic Integrity violation, the tutor may request documentation outlining the Academic Integrity policy of the course and/or university, or the written permission of the instructor allowing tutoring for the particular assignment.
The tutor is not responsible for communication between students and parents. When asked to provide guidance or advice, the tutor will present recommendations with good faith in the best interest of the student.
If requested by the parent or guardian, the tutor will provide confirmation once the student joins the lesson.
The tutor will prepare the student academically to the best of their ability but does not accept responsibility for student performance in evaluation or examination.
Obligations of the Student
The student undertakes to work with integrity and give their best effort to developing knowledge and scholarship.
The student will never request assistance in a manner prohibited by the Academic Integrity guidelines of their school and course.
The student will never submit a tutor’s work as their own, nor share a tutor’s work without the tutor’s written permission. Any work provided by the tutor is for the student’s private study. If a student submits a tutor’s work as their own or shares a tutor’s work without the tutor’s written permission, the tutor reserves the right to cancel all future lessons, charging full rate for all lessons cancelled within 7 days (168 hours).
Obligations of the Parent or Responsible Party
All student decisions with regards to tutoring, including but not limited to scheduling and/or extending appointments, are assumed to be made in good faith with the permission of the parent and/or responsible party. It is the responsibility of both the student and the parent and/or responsible party to communicate such decisions.
Minors shall always be tutored in sessions accessible to the parent or guardian at any time, whether online or in-person. Parents should contact the tutor if they require assistance to access sessions.
